Aditivne tehnologije, često poznate i kao 3D printanje, postaju jedan od najdinamičnijih segmenata moderne proizvodnje. Za razliku od klasičnih proizvodnih metoda kao što su obrada odvajanjem čestica ili injekcijsko prešanje, aditivne tehnologije temelje se na postupnom taloženju materijala sloj po sloj, čime omogućuju izradu kompleksnih geometrija koje bi tradicionalnim metodama bile vrlo teško izvedive ili u potpunosti nemoguće. Njihova primjena danas obuhvaća širok raspon područja sve od brzog prototipiranja, preko proizvodnje prilagođenih alata i prihvata, do manjih proizvodnih serija.\\
